Understanding how COVID-19 has Changed Teachers’ Chances of Remaining in the Classroom

Abstract

Despite considerable increases in job demands and unexpected new challenges, there has been no mass teacher exodus during the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, even if teachers are not leaving in large numbers increased burnout may still negatively affect students. In this research brief, we document factors associated with teachers' intentions to leave their position or profession during the 2020-21 school year.
